Working in Kent
North-west Kent is close enough to be an ordinary working day for us, Dartford, Bexley, Gravesend and Bromley are a short run from East London via the Dartford Crossing or the A2.
The Thames-side corridor through Dartford, Greenhithe and Gravesend carries a lot of distribution and light industrial space, so compound and shutter security and multi-unit extinguisher contracts are a large part of what we do there. Bluewater and the surrounding retail add commercial shopfront work.
Further into the county the housing is largely suburban and semi-rural, detached property, outbuildings, garages, and in the villages a good deal of older timber joinery that needs proper carpentry rather than a replacement door. That suits us: frame repairs, period door security and discreet window locks are normal work for us rather than a reason to decline.
